About the Book
The book entitled Introduction to Public Administration is discussed the theory and practice of public administration in two sections. The first section explains the various theoretical issues concerning academic field of Public Administration. This section deals with number of concepts and ideas which in last more than hundred years enriched the understanding of the theory and practice of public administration in five chapters. From sixth chapter onward, we explore historical linkages of Indian Bureaucracy, the constitutional and legal framework in which Indian Administrative System operates and the salient features of Indian Administrative System. Efforts have been made in this book to include the topics covered in the Public administration syllabus of various Indian universities to serve as a compact book to the graduates and post-graduates students. This book will be also useful for the various completive examinations.
About the Authors
Brajesh Sharma is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Governance and Development Studies, Hawassa University, Awassa, Ethiopia. Prior to joining Hawassa University, he has served as Academic Associate in Hamdard IAS Study Circle, Hamdard University, New Delhi. He completed his MA and PhD from the Department of Political Science of Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. His academic and research interest spans subjects such as Political Theory and Liberalism, Democracy, Human Rights, Governance and Development, Minority Rights, Conflict Studies, Nehru Studies. His current research interests mainly revolve around socio-economic and political issues concerning different regions of Ethiopia. In India, he was associated with several institutions and organizations (NGOs) which have provided him with an inter-disciplinary approach towards the study of social and economic problems.
H.P. Chattopadhyay is a well-known scholar and teacher of political science who taught at several Colleges under Calcutta University, Kolkata. A keen researcher, Chattopadhyay has many books to his credit. His work Ethnic Composition and Crisis in South Asia is one of the widely acclaimed publications. In addition, he has published many research papers and articles in reputed national and international journals and presented papers in national and international seminars and conferences. Presently, he lives a retired life and devotes his time in editing and writing.
