Global Journal of Business Management is an internationally renowned peer reviewed & refereed journal that provides a platform for researchers/ professionals to publish their high quality research papers in management and allied disciplines. Research paper submissions to GJBM are screened and peer-reviewed to maintain highest ethical and technical standards. It gives us immense pleasure to present Vol. 13, No. 1 June 2019 issue of Global Journal of Business Management. We owe this edition to the hard work of our academicians and researchers. The present issue touches upon some of the current issues in business management and its related fields. Six papers covering various functional areas of management have been rigorously selected.
The first paper of Mr. Isaac, Mr. Graham and Dr. Kannan evaluates impact of human resource management practices on satisfaction of employees in luxury hotels of Bengaluru city. The findings of this paper make clear that staffing, compensation and reward, training and performance appraisal are major human resource management practices in luxury hotels. In the second paper, Mr. Vivek explores the impact of human resource management (HRM) practices on Employees’ performance of Commercial banks in Jaffna District, Sri Lanka. The finding of paper indicates that HRM practices in recruitment and selection, training and development, compensation and performance appraisal have a positive impact on employee’s performance. The third paper of Dr. Mishra investigates the trends of HRD in the area of industrial administration as well as global administrative system in the phase of implementation for the effective performance and productivity. It explore the needs of industrial trends which reflects depth of participations under universal realizations regarding organizational objectives. The fourth paper of Dr. Panneer Selvam has attempted to explore a uniqueness of chettinad cuisine for attraction of Indian and foreign tourists. The fifth paper of Tumpa Dey explores challenge faced by two Indian social enterprises— GRAIN and SAFA. The sixth paper of Dr. Sumi finds out the relevance of regression analysis in business forecasting.
All the papers report a plethora of findings that should be of interest to researchers. We are grateful to all contributors and reviewers for their valuable inputs. We hope that our readers will be benefited from the knowledge so generated. We look forward to the continuous support of our contributors and reviewers, and invite papers, recommendations and discussions for further issues.
