Weber’s Theory of Social Economics is based on large measure on his youthful studies, which had borne on the most varied subjects—agrarian problems of an­tiquity, medieval trade relations, the position of agricultural workers and worker’s con­ditions in modern factories. This  edition examines Weberian economic sociology in eight chapters— Sociological analysis of capitalist economy, economic sociology, role of rationality in economic life and social structure, historical development of social economics, the relation between ascetic rationalism and modern capitalism and and his vision on contemporary economic sociology.

About the Author

A.P. Thakur is a dynamic scholar and teacher of sociology of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, Faizabad. A keen researcher and active social activist, Dr. Thakur has presented several research papers in national and international seminars. He is also associated with social awareness and rural employment programmes.
