The second edition of this book is not only redesign for the use of librarians but also for faculties, university administrators and government officials to enhance their understanding of library problems and recognition of their interests and responsibility for university library development. This edition also addresses the current state of university libraries in India, and noted that education at the university level is responsible for the production of the necessary middle and higher level manpower for national development. About the Author

S.C. Joshi is a reputed information scientist and librarian who devoted twenty-two years of his service in various libraries in Maharashtra. Mr. Joshi did B.Lib. and M.Lib. from Poona University. He also presented papers in several seminars and conferences.
