About the Book
The Srikanta is the most celebrated of all the SaivaVedantists and his Brahma-Sutra-Bhasya is taken to be one of the most authoritative Vedanta-Bhasya of the Saivas. #rÌkaÓtha’s System of Monotheistic Vedanta is not included amongst the most celebrated ‘Five Schools of the VedÊnta’, although it is an important system of the VedÊnta. Srikanta has very ably explained the Vedanta philosophy from the standpoint of Saivaism. Srikanta propounds his central philosophythat Brahmanis Siva which is taken to be the sole creator, sustainer and destroyer of the Universe, as well as the sole cause of salvation. In his Commentary, he identifies ‘Brahman’ with ‘Siva,’ attributing to the latter all the usual qualities and activities of a Monotheistic God. This edition is carefully presented a complete picture of the inner virility and vitality of the VedÊnta System of Philosophy in 13 chapters.
