ABOUT THE BOOK
Sociology is the study of social behaviour or society, including its origins, development, organisation, networks, and institutions. Social institutions are major structures made up of groups or ideas that influence people’s daily lives, views of the world, or integration into society.
Present book is a compilation of 36 papers in 4 parts: rural development and social institutions, sustainable development and social livelihood, cultural change and discrimination, and social justification and social change. It is hoped that the present edition of this book will be beneficial to all concerned of the society, in general and students, lawyers, advocates, academicians, human rights institutions, researchers and NGOs working in sociology field, in particular.
ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Dr. Sukanta Sarkar is a distinguished scholar in the field of Economics. He did bachelor and master degree in economics. He awarded doctorate degree for his work on rubber tappers. He qualified UGC-NET Exam in December/2006. Currently he is D.Litt Scholar, Department of Economics; Berhampur University, Odisha. He presented many research papers in various seminars, conferences and symposiums. Various research papers have been published in foreign and national journals. He has authored books relating to Corruption, Human trafficking, Orphan children, Rubber plantation, Corporate social responsibility, Handicraft workers, Deforestation, Environmental pollution, Agrarian economics and Social security
Saidur Rahman received his M.A. (1987) and Ph.D. degrees in Sociology from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He has also done a Pre-doctoral course in American Civilization from the American Studies Research Centre, Hyderabad. He taught as a lecturer at Aligarh Muslim University from the year 1992-1998. He also taught as an Assistant Professor-III at the University of Asmara (Eritrea) from the year 2000-2005. Presently, he is an Associate Professor and has been teaching Sociology in the Department of Sociology & Social Work at the Eritrea Institute of Technology (Eritrea) since 2006.
Dr. Mohammad Afsar Alam is currently working as Assistant Professor, Department of Geography, Adi-Keih College of Arts & Social Sciences, Asmara, Eritrea, N.E. Africa. He did M.A. and M.Phill in Geography from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh and awarded Ph.D. in 2002. He also worked as Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography at Eritrea Institute of Technology, Mainefhi, Eritrea. He presented many research papers in various seminars, conferences and symposiums. His various papers are published in foreign and national journals.
