About the Book
The second edition of this book is redesign in four chapters to make effective schools from learner and institution perspective at primary level. It explores the several factors that can help in making a school effective. An effective school is one that promotes the progress of its students in a broad range of intellectual, social and emotional outcomes, where students progress might be expected from knowledge of their backgrounds. It is hoped that this book will be helpful educationist, teachers and educational institutions in creating better environment in their schools.
About the Authors
Dr. Noorjehan N. Ganihar is working as Professor of the Department of Education in Karnatak University, Dharwad since 1986. She obtained her M.A., M.Ed., and Ph.D. degrees from Karnatak University, Dharwad. She has a P.G Diploma in Education from S.N.D.T. Women’s University, Bombay. She has a P.G. Diploma in Human Resource Management, and a P.G. Diploma in Higher Education from IGNOU. She is a recipient of two “State Awards” in (1982) and (1983). She has received Life Time Achievement Award in Education from Health and Education Development Association, New Delhi in 2007. She has published a number of research articles in journals of national standard and repute. She has guided several M.Ed., M.Phil. Dissertations and Ph.D. theses. She has attended a number of national/international seminars/conferences/workshops and presented papers. She is a member of several academic boards/ bodies besides holding honorary positions in NGO’s.
Dr. Sanjeevkumar S. Hangal is working as Lecturer in Vijayanagar College of Education, Hubli. He has obtained his M.Ed., M.Phil and Ph.D from Karnatak University, Dharwad. He has worked as Lecturer in D.Ed. and B.Ed colleges for several years. He has attended number of conferences, symposia and workshops. His area of specialization is Educational Management.
