About the Book
Rural women make essential contributions to the rural economy of all developing countries, yet their access to productive resources and employment opportunities remains limited, holding back their capacity to improve their lives and to better contribute to the economic growth, food security and sustainable development of their communities and countries. The main objective of this book is to evolve alternative strategies of rural women empowerment to enable them to participate, as equal citizens, in the economic, political and social sustainable development of the rural society. This book is designed in six chapters that focus on the conceptual analysis and empirical measurement of rural women’s empowerment in South Asian perspectives and its variable in national and regional development. The material of this book is fruitful for researchers, scholars, professionals, teachers and students. About the Author
Dipali Saha, a dynamic scholar of rural economics and sociology, was born in Maldah district and educated in North Bengal University (West Bengal). She was associated with several projects of ICSSR Kolkata and also worked as a lecturer in Ashutosh College in Kolkata. Presently, she is devoted in social work and associated with NGO in Siliguri of North Bengal. She has written a number of important articles in News paper and journals of national and international reputes. Her first published book is Civil Society and Modern Politics.
