Description
About the Book
Raja-yoga seeks to attain the divine by igniting the flame of knowledge of the self within. The present book entitled, Raj Yoga, is one of his most influential works of Swami Vivekananda. It is designed in two parts. The first half of the book is based on a series of lectures that Swami Vivekananda gave on the subject of raj yoga. It contains a great deal of practical information on meditation and psychology from the Vedantic point of view. The second half of the book is a translation and commentary on Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. The practices espoused in the Yoga Sutras have been accepted by most, if not all, of India’s schools of philosophy. Effort has been made to avoid technicalities as far as possible, and to keep to the free and easy style of conversation. Hope this book will be helpful for laymen as well as practitioners of yoga and meditation.
