About the Books
Tapping the energies of nature, building machines and transportation are important mechanical engineering activities required to meet diverse needs of mankind. That is why every engineer, whatever, may be its branch, has to have basic knowledge in Mechanical Engineering. To meet this requirement, all the universities in India/ abroad prescribe a core course in principle of mechanical Engineering. This course forms a core subject which is taught to first year students of all disciplines of engineering in all technical institutions. The text and literature, contains a collection of valuable ideas/ views, is the outcome of the distillation of the available text books written by distinguished authors.
Based on our teaching experience of this subject, we have endeavoured to present a systematic and logical explanation of basic concept of mechanical engineering. A large number of solved problems and objective type questions are included in order to make the underlying principles.
