About the Book

The primary objective of the edition is to draw the attention of researchers towards this unexplored field of positive psychology. We hope that the edition will motivate the researchers to make new research proposals to explore the multidimensional field of positive psychology. This edition covers the research work in six major areas of positive psychology. In Part I titled “Introduction to Positive Psychology” we have introduced the growing field of Positive Psychology highlighting the nature of Positive Psychology. There are two chapters in this part. Chapter 2 describes the making of positive psychology with a historical and pedagogical point of view. In Part II titled “Emotional Intelligence and Positive Psychology” various research papers are included which have shown the emotional aspects of positive psychology with emphasis on emotional intelligence and various socio-cultural aspects. There are five chapters in this part.

About the Editors

Dr. Sunil Kumar is Assistant professor in the area of Organizational Behaviour at the School of Management, Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida. He received Ph. D. in Psychology from JNV, University, Jodhpur (India) for his research work in the field of Personality and Intelligence. He is a gold medallist in M.A. and M.Phil. in Psychology from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. He started his career as a research fellow at Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Defence Laboratory, Jodhpur. Where he mainly worked on Perception and Camouflaging. He has also worked with institute of management Education and Institute of Management studies in Ghaziabad. He has authored two books one on Personality, Intelligence and Correlates from LAMBERT Academic Publishing, Germany and the second is Organizational behaviour from Global Vision Publishing, New Delhi. He has dozens of research publication in various national and international journals related to Psychology and Management. He has also presented his research papers in various national and international conferences and seminars. Dr. Kumar’s research interests focuses mainly on Personality, Emotional Intelligence, Human Intelligence, Positive Psychology, Stress and its coping, Organizational Behaviour, Human Resource Management etc.

Dr. S. B. Yadav is Associate Professor in the area of Psychology at Department of Psychology, JNV, University, Jodhpur, where he teaches courses in   General Psychology, Applied Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Educational Psychology, Social Psychology etc. He has supervised a large number of M.A., M. Phil., and Doctoral Dissertations in the field of Applied Psychology. His Papers are published in various journals, books, and conferences of repute.
