About the Book

This edition is an attempt to incorporate the useful developments of anarchist philosophy in the last hundred years, and to make it relevant to the problems of the twenty-first century. Anarchism is the political philosophy of human emancipation. According to Anarchists, humans are happiest and most productive when they are free to exercise their creative powers in cooperation with one another outside of modern state and corporate institutions. Anarchism is usually considered to be a radical left-wing ideology and as much of anarchist economics and legal philosophy reflect anti-authoritarian interpretations of communism, collectivism, syndicalism or participatory economics. Anarchists propose that communities should organize themselves to address their own needs, without either state or corporate mandates. We hope this edition will go at least part of the way to providing a new theoretical and practical foundation for free market socialist economics.

About the Authors

Dr. Anjana Banerjee, born in Calcutta and educated in Patna, is a young scholar and teacher of Political Sociology. She has M.A. (Political Science) and Ph.D. from Patna University.  As a keen researcher, she has written more than 15 research papers and articles which have been published in reputed journals and newspapers. Presently she teaches in RSP College Jharia, Dhanbad.

Dr. Bhupen Chaudhary, born in Munger and educated from Bhagalpur University, is a young and dynamic scholar, an erudite editor on sociology. He has done PhD from TNB University, Bhagalpur on “Social Movement and Agrarian Transformation in Bihar (1947–1990).” He has contributed to a 10 research papers in the journals of national reputes. Presently, he is teaching in J.R.S. College, Jamalpur.
