About the Book
Nanotechnology offers a wealth of tools that are providing cancer researchers with new and innovative ways to diagnose and treat cancer. This edition is divided into thirteen chapters that encompass a number of therapeutic approaches in cancer treatment through use of a variety of nonmaterial’s, such as cantilevers, quantum dots, nanowires and gold nanoshell capable of simultaneously detecting and treating cancer. The biggest advantage of nanotechnology is that nanosized tools are small relative to the size of a cell and hold great promise for developing effective techniques to work within cells or even at a sub cellular level. Nanotechnology is a potential tool that could help detect the molecular changes and assist in focusing on preventive efforts. This edition will offer high-level descriptions of the tools and methods in nanotechnology which can be applied in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
