About the Book

This edition deals with different streams of science like microbiology, biochemistry and genetics and the application of scientific and engineering principles to the processing of materials by biological agents to produce goods and services. This edition is redesigned the whole matter into two volumes- the first volume describes theory and principles of biotechnology and its applications in different fields is explained in second volume. After an elaborate introductory chapter, I talk about the biotechnology applicable in four main streams of science, i.e., Plant biotechnology (2nd chapter), Animal biotechnology (3rd chapter), Industrial biotechnology (4th chapter),  Agricultural biotechnology (5th chapter) and finally Genetic engineering (6th chapter). I sincerely hope that this edition would provide many important aspects and latest information both for students and the research scholars those who are working in this field.

About the Book

Dr. Rita Singh, obtained her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degree from the Calcutta University. Her area of specialisation is Tissue Culture of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants. A keen researcher, Dr. (Mrs.) Singh has many research papers and books to her credit. She worked as Research Scientist for several years at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi.
