About the Book
The purpose of the writer in compiling this book has been to set fourth the succession of schools and systems of philosophy as to accord to scholasticism a presentation in some degree adequate to its importance in the history of speculative thought. The scope of this work has determined not only the general arrangement of the volume, but also the selection of material and bibliographical references. Under the title ‘sources’, the student will find mention of the publications and of one or two standard works which have been selected as being most easy of access. At the end of each chapter suggestions for criticism are offered under the title ‘Historical Position’.
About the Author
William Turner, the leading scholar in the field of philosophical inquiry, had a keen eye on gradual development of thoughts which accounts many aspects like racial, personal, religious and social etc. Turner was internationally known name for originality and lucidity of arguments together with correctness and sense of purpose. Having strong command on personalities and influences of different doctrine, he had interpreted the complex process of the historical development of philosophy in organised way.
