About the Book
The book entitled History of Modern Indian Economy is a comprehensive study and analysis of the different forces and factors which have played a crucial role in the evolution and growth of the modern Indian economy. The advent of the modern Indian economy was essentially characterised by the emergence of towns, cities, trade, industry and more importantly, the new middle class. The book is the original, comprehensive and critical study of the diverse aspects of the modern Indian economy. It is hoped that it would be helpful in understanding properly the basic nature and role of the modern Indian economy in the final achievement of India’s independence.
About the Authors
Abdul Sabahuddin, a noted mediaeval historian and translator of several Persian Manuscript into English, devoted his life more than thirty years in research and teaching in Hyderabad. He has written several books and research papers and translated Persian Manuscript into English. This book is one of his important contributions to mediaeval history.
Rajshree Shukla, a young scholar and teacher of history, did her Ph.D. from Lucknow University. A keen researcher, Dr. Shukla has published some important articles in reputed journals. She devoted her valuable time in editing this book. Presently, she is teaching in Central School at Mau (UP).
