About the Book

In this edition, author have consistently discussed and explained the influence of religion in political development from divine power to public power. It is no doubt that religion has given our society much of its character and coherence, permeating human behaviour in various ways either directly or indirectly. It is undeniable that the rise of modern political system was strongly influenced by the Jewish Christian religious heritage. Despite the great secularising process that has taken place during the last four centuries, belief in God has continued to play a relevant role in political ideas.

About the Author

Anjana Banerjee, born in Calcutta and educated in Patna, is a young scholar and teacher of Political Sociology. She has M.A. (Political Science) and Ph.D. from Patna University.  As a keen researcher, she has written a number of research papers and articles which have been published in reputed journals and newspapers. Presently she teaches in RSP College Jharia, Dhanbad.
