Description

It gives me immense pleasure to introduce you all to the 7th issue of Global Journal of Business Management (GJBM) under the flagship of Global Vision Publishing House,
New Delhi. GJBM is an internationally renowned Journal that maintains highest ethical and technical standards of the manuscript review. All research papers submitted for publication in GJBM are thoroughly screened and selected after review from the experts of the concerned field. The current volume touches upon some of the latest research issues in Management and its related fields. In total, 12 papers covering various functional areas of Management have been presented in this issue.
The first paper is, authored by Shalini Srivastava, an empirical study of the moderating effect of Emotional Intelligence on the relationship between Tolerance of Ambiguity and Managerial effectiveness on a sample of 352 managers belonging to Private Sector Organizations. The second empirical study by Md. Aminul Islam, Farid Ahammad Sobhani and Ravindranath Gopinathan Nair investigates the leadership in the Hierarchy of Managers in Malaysian Multinational Manufacturing Industries. In third paper, Sujendra Swami, P. and
V. Madhusudana Prasad have discussed about six sigma definitions, success aspects in six sigma departments wise and functions wise of an organization and how they are contributing to the success rate of quality initiation in the company.
The fourth paper by Anupam Jain delves into a new area where he attempts to explore the effect of working capital management on profitability of the Indian oil drilling and exploration industry. The fifth paper on “Performance and Persistence of Selected Mutual Fund Schemes” is authored by Moid U. Ahmad and Saif Siddiqui and seeks to analyse a case for understanding the technical concepts related to performance in investments. The sixth paper is, authored by Dean Martin, C. a micro-level Study of buying Behaviour of rural consumers in Thrissur District of Kerala. In seventh paper, authors B.J. Lathi and Parag Narkhede have focused of concepts, realities and innovations of food security in India.
Another paper of S.R. Sharma and Monika Senwal is an empirical study of US economic crisis and its impact on Indian equity market. Next paper on “Private equity investment in Indian education sector” by Archana Pandey finds out that quality education creates a tremendous short-term and long-term opportunity for education investments in India. Kamaldeep Kaur and J.S. Pasricha’s paper on “Working of Voluntary Consumer Organisations (VCOs) in Punjab” explores and analyzes the functioning of 50 voluntary consumer organisations in Punjab. The next paper by S.K. Sharma, Sunita Bharatwal and Monika Sharma studies is targeted to understanding of the brand equity and its contribution to create a competitive advantage for the firm. In penultimate research paper, Dharmendra S. Mistry presents strategic review of Pharmaceuticals Industry and compared with other industry’s performance which helps the stakeholders to take decision from their perspective.
The 7th issue, thus, reflects a keen interest and sustained efforts of academicians and professionals who have covered such diverse themes of contemporary and future relevance. We appreciate the commitment and efforts put in by the contributors in terms of the relevance of topics, quality of contents, and the versatility in their research papers. We also wish to record our appreciation for our reviewers and readers whose insatiable desire for sharing new development in the management world.
