The present edition makes an attempt to explain the relevance of e-commerce and present its significance in the overall economic scenario. One part is devoted to an analysis of the e-commerce strategies of different countries as well as that of India. It attempts to show that in spite of the existence of the digital divide, investment in ICT not only provides digital access but also has important implications for economic development. Another part reviews the initiatives of international organizations (such as OECD), as well as countries such as India, USA, Canada, Japan, Australia etc. This edition also deals with issues related to taxation or non-taxation of transactions related to e-commerce. In this context, effort is made to analyze issues related to tax policy and administration with reference to e-commerce.
About the Author
Adam Musgrave is currently Course Leader for the M.A. Responsible Events and is actively involved in the development of the new M.Sc. Distance Learning programme and the undergraduate programme for the UK Centre for Event Management, London. Before moving into education he had a successful career in hotel and consultancy management for a range of national and international companies, where he gained much of his strategic planning experience and developed his skills in training.
