The adherence to the principles of ethics is essential in all walks of life for the peace and well-being of society. It is all the more required at the present juncture of society when economies are on the path of development and innovations in science and technology are achieving new heights. The study of ethics is required at present because in the wake of these developments many unhealthy trends are emerging in our social fabric. Politics has become a game without principles. People want to be rich overnight without hard work. The pursuit of science and technology is without humanity and knowledge and information is being, accumulated without any emphasis on character.
In the present book these issues are being highlighted. How to integrate ethics with economics, science and technology for the positive development of society, is the main theme of the book.
About the Author
Dr. S.D. Chamola did his M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from the Punjab University, Chandigarh. He retired as Professor and Head, Department of Economics and Business Management, CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hissar. After retirement he got senior fellowship from the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) and published his research work in the form of the book-Kautilaya Arthshastra and Science of Management: Its Relevance for Contemporary India. He also published a book–Economic Development and Ethics. Recently he co-edited a book entitled Agriculture and Rural Development in India: Some Emerging Issues. He has also served as visiting professor in a number of Universities. Dr. Chamola has teaching and research experience of over 40 years and has supervised more than 10 Ph.D students. He has also more than 150 research papers to his credit which were published in various journals in India and abroad.
