About the Book
The main objective of this Encyclopedia is to provide the comprehensive knowledge of Punjabi language and literature from inception to modernity in two volumes in which we have incorporated 50 more entries which was missing in first edition. Now this monumental work is a compilation of more than 178 Punjabi literati and 405 prominent literary works. We have adopted some basic principles in including the entries in this encyclopedia, i.e., those who gave new dimensions in literary thought and writings. We believe that none of the prominent literary personality and their works would have missing from this work. The task which we have performed is difficulties but we shall consider our labour amply rewarded if this encyclopedia is found useful by scholars interested in Punjabi literature, history and culture.
About the Authors
R.P. Malhotra is a noted writer and journalist. He did M.A. in Punjabi and History from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. He has contributed a number of articles in journals and newspapers of national repute. Earlier he was associated with some of the important newspapers as Journalist. Presently, he is doing freelance journalism and has written several books.
Kuldeep Arora is a dynamic scholar who did M.A. (English literature) from Jamia Hamdard, Delhi and is pursuing his research in English literature. Although, he has contributed a number of research papers in journals of national reputes, and presented papers in seminars, symposium and workshops. The present work is his major contribution in this field.
