About the Book
Providing counselling and other helping services at every stage of life has become a challenging task for parents, teachers and even professional practitioners. The significant contributions made by psychologist and other well-being promoters have helped the lot not only in understanding the theoretical issues but also motivated them to undertake extensive researches and develop effective practical methods.
The present volume is an effort to integrate theory, research and practices. The edited book consisting of twenty-one articles have been classified in four sections. Section I with five chapters describe nature, need and importance of counselling. There are five chapters in section II where issues relating to behavioural problems such as bullying etc. has been highlighted. Section III consisting of six chapters deals with some of the models concerning to school and work place counselling programmers. The last section of the book contains those five chapters which demonstrate the application of some special intervention procedures to achieve desired changes in the behaviour patterns of counselees.
The editors hope that the book will be successful in its mission of extending the knowledge in the counselling fields.
About the Editors
Nov Rattan Sharma is working as Professor of Psychology at M.D. University, Rohtak. He is a committed teacher and versatile researcher with an experience of more than 25 years. Professor Sharma has contributed around 60 research articles to various Journals and Books. He has co-edited five books in the applied areas. He is also an editor of reputed Journal of Indian Health Psychology. Prof. Sharma specialized in guidance and counselling.
Ashok K. Kalia is at present working as professor, Department of Distance Education, M.D. University, Rohtak. He is actively involved in teaching and research work since more than 25 years. Dr. Kalia who specialized in educational and vocational counselling, has contributed more than 70 research papers to international and native journals and books. He is a life member of different national and international associations of academics and professionals.
Akbar Husain is Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology and Counseling, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He has over twenty seven years of teaching and research experience. He has successfully supervised 10 M.Phil dissertations and 19 Ph.D. theses. He is author/co-author of 16 books and 140 research articles/papers. Prof. Husain has attended several National and International Conferences and Seminars. He has standardized many psychological tests and completed three research projects. His current areas of research are: Positive, Spiritual and Counseling Psychology.
