About the book

The present book, Biotechnology: Potential Applications and Prospects, contains 21 articles on different aspects of biotechnology discipline. The book is the output of meaningful compilation of various recent research findings. The book contains four chapters such as Industrial Biotechnology and Phytochemistry, Environmental Biotechnology, Genetics and Biochemistry and Molecular Docking and Microbial Biochemistry. Under each section, different research topics contributed by authors who are veterans in their respective field of research. The results presented in this edition represent the latest achievements made in their own laboratories. About the Authors

Natesan Geetha is presently working as Professor in the Department of Botany, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore-641 046, Tamilnadu, India. She has completed her Ph.D in Bharathidasan University. She was working at various capacities in RRII, Kottayam and Mother Teresa Women’s University, TN and visited countries like Thailand and USA. She has received five funded projects from DST, DBT and UGC. She has published more than 70 research papers in various SCI journals and published 4 books. She has authored for many book chapters.

Dr.Usha Raja Nanthini is working as Associate Professor, Department of Biotechnology, Mother Teresa Women’s University, Kodaikanal, Tamilnadu, India from 2014 onwards. She has more than eight years teaching experience and two years research experience. She has published more than 20 papers in reputed journals. She has authored for two books. She has completed two projects and she has one ongoing project funded by DST.

T.S.Geetha received her Ph.D degree in Biotechnology from Mother Teresa Women’s University, Kodaikanal. She worked as Guest Lecturer in Department of Biotechnology from Mother Teresa Women’s University, Kodaikanal for a period of 10 Years. Her Research interest cover Bioinformatics, Animal cell culture, Microbial Technology. She has published many research articles in National and International journals.

Perumal Venkatachalam is presently working as Professor in the Department of Biotechnology, Periyar University, Salem, Tamil Nadu, India. He received  Ph.D Degree from Bharathidasan University, Tiruchiralli, Tamil Nadu. He completed Post-Doctoral Research In Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He started his carrier as a Scientist in Rubber Research Institute of India, Kottayam, Kerala from 1998 to 2008.He has visited many countries such as Cuba, USA, Sri Lanka, Thailand for short training programs as well as for paper presentations in International conferences. He has been published numerous articles in peer reviewed and science citation indexed journals.
