Description

About the Book

The White (Shukla) Yajurveda Upanishads contain spiritual wisdom and philosophical teachings, as well as insights into the deepest mysteries of existence. They are primarily concerned with understanding the nature of Brahman and recognizing its presence in every aspect of life. This book delves into the distinct features, themes, and translation of 19 Upanishads associated with the White Yajurveda. Of them two Mukhya (Principal) Upanishads are the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad and the Isha Upanishad; six Samanya Upanishads are the Subala Upanishad; the Mantrika Upanishad; the Niralamba Upanishad; the Paingala Upanishad; the Adhyatma Upanishad; and the Muktika Upanishad; other six Upanishads, the Jabala Upanishad; the Bhikshuka Upanishad; the Turiyatita Avadhuta Upanishad; the Yajnavalkya Upanishad; the Satyayaniya Upanishad; and the Paramahamsa Upanishad, are associated with Sanayas Upanishad; the Tara Sara Upanishad is attached to the Vaishnava tradition; and other four Upanishads—the Advaya Taraka Upanishad; the Hamsa Upanishad; the Trisikhibrahmana Upanishad; and the Mandala Brahmana Upanishad— are associated with Yoga Upanishad. These 19 Upanishadic texts focus mostly on the monistic, pantheistic and non-dualistic philosophical concepts of Atman and Brahman and it can be attained through meditation and introspection. They are considered to be the fountainhead of the subsequent rich and varied philosophical tradition in India. I am thankful for all those translators and scholars whose works have been used in this unique compiled volume. Hope this book will be helpful to understand great Upanishdic wisdom of ancient India.
