About the Book
In present book, Author has presented new approach in life, philosophy and action of Mahatma Phule in eight chapters. His life and activities is discussed in the first chapter. The second chapter examines Phule’s philosophy and its application in society. Phule’s criticism of Hindu religion is described in the third chapter and the fourth chapter focuses on Phule’s concept of human rights and justice. Phule’s contribution to social reformation, women emancipation and Dalit empowerment is reviewed in the fifth and sixth chapters of this work. Last two chapters explains Dalit movements under Phule’s leadership and its impact on future Dalit movements. Hope this book will be useful for not only academicians and social activists but also helpful in redesigning Dalit movement.
About the Author
Bhupen Chaudhary, born in Munger and educated from Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University, is a young and dynamic research scholar, and teacher of sociology. He has done M.A. in Sociology and carrying research on “Social Movement and Agrarian Transformation in Bihar (1947–1990)” in TMBU, Bhagalpur. He has participated many seminar and conferences and contributed a number of research papers in journals of national repute. Presently, he is teaching in J.R.S. College, Jamalpur.
