About the Book
The second edition of this book has reconstructed an ideological and empirical examination of socio-economic behaviour and social changes of Pukhtun tribe. It also explains the integral situation of the religious and occupational groups within Pukhtun social structure and the functioning of their rights and duties in society. This edition is redesign in five chapters that deals with social behaviour and societal changes; settlement patterns of socio-economic structures; relationship between lineage and leadership; economic behaviour of lineage ideology; and socio-economic mechanism of patrons and client relationships.
About the Author
Dipali Saha, a dynamic scholar of sociology, was born in Maldah district and educated in North Bengal University (West Bengal). She was associated with several projects of ICSSR Kolkata and also worked as a lecturer in Ashutosh College in Kolkata. Presently, she is devoted in social work and associated with NGO in Siliguri of North Bengal. She has written a number of important articles in News paper and journals of national and international reputes Her first published book is Civil Society and Modern Politics.
