Description
About the Book
The main object of this edition is to provide a comprehensive coverage of biophysics and its relationships among the physical properties, chemical constituents and biological functions of all living cells. Approximately 117 entries and 485 figures are incorporated in this encyclopaedia as one continuous A–Z format which will help readers in predicting the chemical composition of a substance from its physical properties, with great accuracy and vice versa. In the recent years we have seen a remarkable increase of the interest of scholars in biophysical methods for the investigation of structure-function relationships in proteins at the molecular level, cell organelles, and whole body parts. At this stage of interdisciplinary thinking, an effort like the present one is laudable, deserving better encouragement. Our attempt is to put many treatises in unambiguous manner and to find out certain correlations which are not yet explored.
