About the Book

The present book investigates the liberalization programme initiated by the government of India in 1991 and its impact on Indian organizations as well as multinational company who have been continuously responding to the competitive challenges posed by external and internal world in seven chapters. This book also examines, how these organizations are absorbing this sudden external competitive pressure and what are the changes which have been brought about by them in their structure, competitive strategies, style of decision-making, leadership and human resource management practices, after the process of liberalization and globalization has been initiated in India. In this book forty organizations of public, private and multinational sector have been studied which are operating in manufacturing as well as service sector. In exploring these issues a thorough examination of theoretical concepts like structure, design and management style as well as new trends and practices in the field of reengineering and restructuring is critically examined.

         About the Author                                      

Presently Associate Professor at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, University of Delhi, Bharat.Dr. Rana is an alumni of  Shri Ram College Of Commerce, University of Delhi .She completed her M.Phil and Ph.D. in the area of Organizational Behaviour and Development from Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi Dr. Rana has approximately 20 years of experience in academics in the specific areas of Organization Behaviour, Organization Change and Human Resource Management for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.She has published many articles in national and international journals. She has been conferred the ‘Distinguish Teacher Award’ by Govt. of NCT of Delhi for the year 2013. She has conducted a number of training workshops/seminars and conferences in the field of Management  and women empowerment. Dr. Rana has conducted various sessions in UGC National workshops on role of Women in Academic Leadership in Higher Education. Currently she is heading the Department of Management Studies in her college.
